    HDMI Audio HD 3000

Hello fellow hackintoshers! I've spent the better part of 48 hours getting my Aspire S3 ultrabook up and running with Yosemite 10.10.1. I have wifi working via USB, QE/CI on my HD 3000 and all that other good stuff. Audio is currently working with VoodooHDA, but I have a question: can VoodooHDA work with HDMI audio? I had a similar setuip with Mountain Lion on the same laptop and on both the video works perfectly over HDMI, but audio does not. I have the option to output with HDMI but when I choose it the volume greys out and it doesn't work. So, my question is actually a two-parter: 1.) Is it possible to get HDMI audio working with VoodooHDA (Yosemite)? If not, I guess using a patched AppleHDA is my only option. Which leads me to my second question... 2.) If I MUST use AppleHDA, what would be the easiest way of finding out my audio codec? I know I have a Realtek sound card, but there are so many options and I don't know which is which. I've googled this at length before and surprisingly could not find a straigtforward answer as to how to find the proper codec to install. Thanks for any help any of you might be able to provide!
  2. Hi, I'm an owner of Dell e6420. Followed guidlines and used DSDT from http://www.insanelym...age__hl__ e6420 . That article specifically says to disable Optimus and thats what I was doing for a long time, but... when I booted in this choppy mode -> sleep and brightness control started working! It might be just a hint to get sleep working in non-Optimus mode (NVS 4200M only), but still worth a try. *Interesting to note: the screenshot I made when running in this unusable mode was completely fine (no artifacts and full desktop), so I had to picture this with iPhone. Thats what I get - only half of screen is shown and with a lot of artifacts:

    Lenovo G570 Brightness Control

Hello, first I'm sorry about my english but I'm French. I successfully installed Lion 10.7.2 via iAtkos L2 with QE/CI working on a Lenovo G570 (Intel Core i3-2310m with HD 3000 Graphics) I can set brightness following this post : http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=236835&st=0 but I have a problem. The brightness steps aren't good : when the slider is on 0, screen goes black but if I put slider on 1 position, brightness is at 50/60%, which is too high. I think we can fix this with DSDT but I don't know how. There is my DSDT : http://www.mediafire.com/?9vkjbj8nw1qh73s Thanks for your replies.
  4. Hello, I installed El Capitan according to the guide at http://x220.mcdonnelltech.com on my Thinkpad x220. While the system runs mostly fine so far, I have the problem that the display exhibits a subtle but noticeable blinking/flickering. One example where this is clearly visible is the screenshot at https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f4/Twm-screenshot-20050401.png. The title bar of the xterm window (more specifically, the dotted bar right of the "xterm" label) flickers on my X220 LCD on Mac OS X. There's no flickering when displaying the same screenshot on Linux. I thought this could be somehow related to the refresh rate. I tried the "cscreen" utility (http://www.pyehouse.com/cscreen/), which shows a refresh rate of 0. When trying to change it, nothing happens (no apparent change in behaviour, cscreen still shows "0") It also seems I'm not alone with this problem. The author of the aforementioned x220 guide could reproduce the behaviour on his x220. User "janohan" at He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named seems to have a similar problem (topic "Blinking screen elements - low refresh rate?"). Any ideas what could be the cause for this behaviour? Has anybody else have a display flickering problem like that on their hackintosh? Any hints greatly appreciated I suspect this must be somehow related to the graphics driver? Is there any other component besides the graphics driver which could be responsible for this behaviour? Could this be the backlight? (in what extent does the operating system control the backlight?)
  5. Hi, I'm having crashes with HD 3000 (0116) and Mountain Lion 10.8.2. They may be related to ring stall, but I'm not sure. My processor is Intel i3 2370M (http://ark.intel.com...-Cache-2_40-GHz). My boot loader is Chameleon 2.2svn (svn-r2140). I got full resolution and QE/CI by removing AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext and editing Info.plist of AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext (IOPCIPrimaryMatch key changed to 0x1E3A8086 from 0x1C3A8086). I don't have GraphicsEnabler=Yes in my org.chameleon.boot.plist. If I add it, the only difference is my graphics card is recognised as 'Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB Shared' instead of 'Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB'. I'm using MacBookPro8,2 SMBios. I'm having sudden crashes of WindowServer. Everything is frozen except for the mouse, and I see scrambled areas on screen. If I have music playing it keeps playing, I can move my mouse. Also I can reproduce these symptoms by opening a big (5000x1000) jpg with Preview and trying to make it fullscreen. The crashes occur without any relation to what I'm doing then. I know this is a common issue and people are having similar issues with HD 3000 but also I've seen people claiming it was resolved by updates. I also tried editing AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext and some related DSDT edits but no go. So I wanted to check if I'm missing something. Any help is appreciated. Also if you can check with a big jpg file it Preview crashes, it would be appreciated too. I'm attaching my DSDT.aml, my SMBios.plist, lspci -vv output from Linux and kernel log from a ring stall. Thanks in advance. fcn_insanelymac.zip
  6. Hi everyone. I have a HP Pavilion DV6-6150sl (integrated graphics Intel HD3000) running OS X Yosemite 10.10. I'm looking for a way to enable the VGA port, as I need it for presentations on a projector. I followed this guide: http://forum.osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/1969-guide-for-enabling-vga-and-hdmi-in-intel-hd3000-gpu/ but once I make the change and reboot, the graphic card doesn't work anymore (lower resolution, glitches, enormous lags, no translucency...). Does someone know how to enable it? Another thing, how do I know if QE/CI is enabled on Yosemite? I have some of the translucencies, screen saver works and DVD Player says everything is supported, but I see sometimes the system isn't "reactive" as with Mavericks. Also in Chess app the moves are very laggy... Is it because of QE/CI or because of the bootflag cpus=1that I have to use in order to successfully boot?? My system: HP Pavilion DV6-6150sl CPU Intel Core i5-2410M 2.3GHz 8GB RAM Intel HD Graphics 3000 / ATI AMD Radeon 6770M (Disabled) Thank you for the help
