  1. Hi, I'm an owner of Dell e6420. Followed guidlines and used DSDT from http://www.insanelym...age__hl__ e6420 . That article specifically says to disable Optimus and thats what I was doing for a long time, but... when I booted in this choppy mode -> sleep and brightness control started working! It might be just a hint to get sleep working in non-Optimus mode (NVS 4200M only), but still worth a try. *Interesting to note: the screenshot I made when running in this unusable mode was completely fine (no artifacts and full desktop), so I had to picture this with iPhone. Thats what I get - only half of screen is shown and with a lot of artifacts:
  2. Hi guys. I recently purchased a new Haswell machine, the Clevo W230SS (specs in signature). I installed OS X Mavericks, and after booting from my USB drive to the partition, I get a lot of screen artifacts. It's so bad that I can't see the first-time setup screen at all, but just grey and coloured lines. I'm using Chimera and I understand that its IGPlatformID=<value> is the same as Chameleon's ig-platform-id=0x<value>. I've tried all combinations of the several boot flags, and none work. What do I do?
  3. Hi, any help would be appreciated!!!! SPECS Custom rig using Mac Pro 3,1 SMBIOS ML 10.8.2 CPU: AMD phenom II x 4 955 (black edition runnng stock 3.2 Ghz) using Sinetek 10.8 patched kernel Graphics: Powercolor ATI HD5670 (DDR3 1gb) (http://www.powercolor.com/global/products_features.asp?id=308) Ram: 8GB Ram: 2 x Kingston 1333MHz 4gb modules (Part Number 99U5458-005.A00LF) Mobo: ASUS M4A88TD-M/USB3 (http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M4A88TDM_EVOUSB3/) STORAGE : DVD DRIVE HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH10L DVD-R/RW drive HDDs (ALL HDDs set on AHCI via bios) 160GB Seagate ST3160815AS (SATA II [fully functional Snow Leopard Partition, 10.6.8]) 1TB Seagate ST31000524AS (SATA III [Windows 7 x64]) 160GB Western Digital WDC WD1600AAJS-22PSA0 (SATA II [Mountain Lion]) Currently booting using boot flags: PCIrootUID=1 Cpus=4 Busratio=16 GraphicsEnabler=Yes (changing this doesn’t make a difference) I have not been able to get proper working graphics using my powercolor HD 5670 on OSX 10.8.2, after many (and I mean a lot) attempts over the past few months. By attempts I mean using different sets of kexts etc. Display is set on the right resolution and QE/CI appears to be enabled (though I’m guessing only partially=transparent menu bar) however I frequently get graphics artifacts on my screen, making osx virtually unusable. Everything other than my graphics is working e.g. sound, networking (internet) etc in ML. I also have a working snow leopard setup, with graphics fully functional at my disposal. I'm taking a huge guess here (note my sarcasm) but I believe this to be the root of my problems: My powercolor card is working fine in Windows 7 & SL 10.6.8. Display is set to 1366x768x32 in ML (using a small monitor). I have tried using a lot of different Apps and the results are the same, even when disabling hardware acceleration options (where available) and the grand finale... Any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you
  4. Hi I have a Lenovo B570 that suffered from bad artifacts with L/ML. This was because of the HD3000 Gfx card. I'm wondering if anyone has had any success with artifacts disappearing with 10.9? Thanks.
  5. I have plugged a projector (Panasonic AX200) in my graphics card's (GTX 560ti) secondary DVI port with a DVI-HDMI cable. In the primary port there's my BenQ monitor (DVI-DVI). I had no problem's for the first few months with this setup but this has been going on for a few weeks now: when I turn off the projector and turn the monitor back on, after a few seconds strange artifacts appear on my monitor, mouse cursor stops moving, keyboard stops working and everything freezes. If I don't press reset, the screen usually turns blue eventually. What's causing this and how to solve it? I don't have any power saving settings enabled and no screen savers. I have set up the projector to show an extended desktop. I read the thread " NVIDIA GTS 450 - "Blue Screen" after changing resolution" and updated to 10.8.2 and installed the Nvidia drivers as recommended there as a solution. It didn't have any effect on my problem however. Here's a photo of what happens: http://i.imgur.com/liSZE.jpg Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!
  6. Hi all, Recently finished setting up my machine in UEFI mode with clover and while it seemed to have no problems, I started to notice a artifact when the pc is in repose downloading something o simply in no use (no sleep). The artifact is a gray screen filled with multicolored dots like photoshop noise, Someone knows why this could happen, the truth is that search and did not find anyone with similar problems and is not the 660ti because in windows works great in games or productivy. My Machine is: i5 3450 660ti Intel DH77KC Retail installation whit Clover in UEFI mode and GraphicsInjector = NO, I am using the default driver of nvidia for osx. The only kexts installed are FakeSMC and AppleHDA. smbios imac 13,2 PD. sorry for my english

    Screen artifacts

This strange thing happens on my hackintosh each time when Adobe Premiere or Apple Motion are working. Also I've found that uTorrent may also cause this s**t. Does anybody have the same problem? Nvidia web driver works just fine 3,19 GHz Intel Core i5 16 Gb RAM NVIDIA GeForce GT 740 2047 Mb artifacts_on_desktop.tiff
  8. GA-EP45-DS3 (correct dsdt for bios) SMBIOS Mac Pro 3,1 Asus ENGT520 SILENT 10.8.2 latest Chimera Experiencing some very odd artifacts that appear rather randomly. 3D/OpenGL stuff and Heaven Benchmark runs through continously and without errors, even with max AA and max AF turned on. I appear to have QE/CI working and dual Monitor too, the artifacts appear on both monitors and concentrate mainly on menu elements, icons and filenames. The Graphics Adapter is brand new and does not appear to have any thermal issues under load (tested with my bare hands) and does not show any other abnormalities. After sleep, the artifacts tend to disappear for a while. After longer use (not neccessarily under load!) they reappear. Currently I am using the stock NVDAGF100Hal.kext, patched with the correct device/vendor ID. I installed the newest Chimera and deleted Appleupstreamuserclient.kext (if that is of any relevance). Regardless of whether i boot with GraphicsEnabler enabled or disabled, I am seeing the same symptoms. Also I am not using any special kexts other than HDAEnabler.kext and RTL-kext by lnx2mac. Cinebench and Heaven results are what is to be expected of this card. Since the System (GA-EP45-DS3, Q6600 on stock speed) is running vanilla and has been working with the proper DSDT for a couple of months now, and the only new component is the GPU, i guess that the card has faulty VRAM or something along those lines. But since stress tests do not make the system lock up or heat up for that matter, I was wondering whether someone else experienced similar issues. My searches in several forums did not bring up anything useful. I have attached a couple of Screenshots (yep, the artifacts show up on screenshots). Other than the artifacts the system is smooth and runs well. Oh and I tried several options for the Gigabyte Robust Graphics Booster in the BIOS (AUTO/Fast/Turbo), but there does not really be a way to turn it off. However I cannot imagine that such a marginal overclock, if it even does anything at all, would cause such heavy artifacts. - any ideas for a fix regarding the visual glitches? - any way to do an artifact test under osx? i know of ways in windows, but the machine does not have a windows install available to test atm - chances for this being a hardware defect? i am betting on corrupt vram or the likes thanks in advance for any help offered Guess this is a Fermi issue? The latest nvidia drivers do not show support for the GT520 though, should i try to install them?

  10. My hackintosh is suffering from a artifacts/ a horizontal line (shifted display) at the bottom of the page of the secondary display when starting to display Adobe Flash in the browser eg. at Youtube or displaying Quicktime-App in OS X Lion 10.7.4. Only system definition MacPro 3,1 doesn't have this problem. I want to have multiple P-states that's why I'm not using MP3,1. <key>AtiConfig</key><string>Vervet</string> in org.chameleon.Boot.plist. 5770 and vidcard is recognized as a 5770 in System Report. Tried also stability of 5770 in Lion --> 5 hours of Unigine-Heaven-3.0 Demo no problemo. I've tried System definition iMac 12,2, Macmini 5,3, Macmini 5,1 and removed AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext from S/L/E still suffering from the odd line. sound is terrible. SD iMac 12,2 altered S/L/E IOPPlatformPluginFamily.kext --> ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext to Macbook Pro 8,3 for P-states still suffering line I thought "well OK try my Asus nVidia 9400GT passive!" Installed it with SD iMac12,2 and bammm.... no glithces, artifacts or line when playing Youtube movie or using Quicktime-App. Only performance is not okay. Scrolling in Browser is choppy, Hardware Acceleration in Photoshop CS5.5 is choppy. Digging through topics here, at Tony's Forum or even Google doesn't help me much ;-( What do I overlook guys?

Intel HD 3000, freezes and lines

Hi. Configuration: HP ProBook 4530s: Intel Core-i5 2430m, Intel HD Graphics 3000, Crucial M4-CT128M4SSD2, 8GB RAM, Atheros AR9285, Realtek RTL8111/8168B SMBIOS: MBP8,1 Intel HD Graphics 3000: Device ID: 0x0116 Revision ID: 0x0009 VRAM: 512 MB (because of 8GB RAM). Problems: There are graphical problems: lines and hangs of everything on the screen but the mouse can move. Already found that it doesn't depend on software and if I'm using Snow Leopard, then everything is fine. If I'm using only one bar of 4GB RAM in Lion, then everything is fine, too. These issues are returned only in combination Lion + 8 GB RAM. I'm using the latest version of Chimera. Playing with the key "Graphics Enabler" does not help, but it is not needed because the card identified well without it. Using the latest beta build of the Lion shows that the same problems remained. I have confidence (perhaps due to the fact that no other versions), the problem is related to the frequency. I have a processor Intel Core-i5 2430m, where the parameter "Graphics Max Dynamic Frequency" is 1.2 GHz. Apple, in turn, uses 2415m and 2435m processors in MBP8,1. They set this parameter to 1.3 GHz. Laptop screen uses LVDS connection type, and here is my connection string from AppleIntelSNBGraphics.kext: 0503 0000 0200 0000 3000 0000 The first option means that it is LVDS, and the other two I do not know. Maybe one of them responsible for the frequency. Let me remind you that there are no problems in the Snow Leopard. I compared the ioreg of 10.6.8 with 10.7.2. Important difference is "NumFrameBuffer". In 10.7.2 it is "04" in 10.6.8 - "02". Maybe I need to have a closer look for some parameters? RevoGirl had the similar problem: http://revogirl.word...3000-artifacts/ The difference is that she corrected the DVI-connector. 0205 0000 0004 0000 0700 0000 to 0205 0000 0004 0000 0850 0000 But what is the 0700, 0850 ... is not clear. I can't ask her, as I can't find her contacts. Thank you for the attention.

    Intel HD 3000 Artifafcts

Hello, and thank you for reading my post! I have a really frustrating issue which ruins my hackintosh experience: graphic artifacts. I have had this issue since I did the clean vanilla install of OS X 10.9 on my Asus laptop (specs at bottom). Sometimes it doesn't appear at all and you may think its gone but no - shortly after all of the screen is covered with white, green and purple squares and stripes. Theres also some actions that are more likely to bring artifacts, like playing YouTube-videos in Safari/Chrome, opening files with preview app, switching to fullscreen (some apps) and opening many tabs in Safari (over 10). And also when I don't touch the computer in a while and then begin to use, it freezes for 2-3 seconds and goes back to normal, why is that? I hope that you can help me with this issue, its quite frustrating. Heres an image of what it usually lookes like My boot loader is Clover v2444 with this config Asus X54C-SX099V: 2,2 GHz Intel Core i3 (Sandy Bridge) Intel HD Graphics 3000 6 GB DDR RAM Thank you, Hackintosher1
  13. Sorry for my english I managed to install 10.9.5 on my laptop mavericks, is even with graphics acceleration, but the screen is with artifacts as image attachment. My settings: Lenovo notebook G400s Processor i7 - 3612 QM - 2:10 GHZ 8G memory T 1 HD Video Resolution: 1366x768 I do not know what else to do, just need it to work.
