Hi

my Acer X3812 with OSX 10.6.8 still seems to have a problem:

If I go to sleep mode, the fans and the harddrives (and I guess also the cpu) are powered on.

The computer wakes up well from sleep.

What could cause this? I have no idea.

Attached my dsdt and /extra stuff:

That is sleep mode S1. You need to set in your BIOS to S3.

Here To Help: I checked it now, S3 mode was and is activated in bios.

So you still mean this is because of S1 mode? Are there any configuration options in the dsdt to activate S3?

Can you provide a sleep dump?

The computer went to sleep, then I pressed mouse and it woke up.
But there is nothing in the log if I enter 'syslog |grep -i "Wake reason" ' in the terminal...

These are the last syslog entries:

Quote

Sat Aug  4 23:16:25 wstation kernel[0] <Debug>: System sleep prevented by SBUS
Sat Aug  4 23:16:27 wstation kernel[0] <Debug>: System Doze
Sat Aug  4 23:16:43 wstation kernel[0] <Debug>: Write for 0xffffff800c422e00 done, status e00002d7
Sat Aug  4 23:16:44 wstation kernel[0] <Debug>: AppleIntelE1000e(Info): Link is Up 100 Mbps Full Duplex, Flow Control: RX/TX

Why SBUS is preventing sleep? Is this normal?

- OSX 10.6.8, ATI HD5570, Core2Quad
- Sleep mode goes to sleep and also wakes up
- Fans of graphics and harddrives are still powered on while sleep
- S3 power mode is activated in bios
- smbios-, chameleon- and dsdt-settings in the download above
- Why SBUS prevents system sleep? My dsdt looks good, doesn't it?

Here is a log of the loaded kexts, the SMBUS is also loaded:

Hi,

"pmset -g assertions" shows up:

CPUBoundAssertion    0
EnableIdleSleep 1
NoIdleSleepAssertion 0
DisableInflow    0

"pmset -g" shows up:

AC Power -1*
Currently in use:

hibernatemode 0
sleep 0
powerbutton 1
disksleep 10
hibernatefile /var/vm/sleepimage
ttyskeepawake 1
autorestart 0
displaysleep 8

I forgot to add a proper SleepEnabler.kext, installed this one. The sleep dump changed, no more errors. I updated the logs above.

But still the harddrives and graphics card do not sleep! And also in sleepmode, the fan of the grpaihc card starts to run with full power.
