If that isn't working then try with NVEnabler64.kext. If that doesn't work use osx86tools and generate an efi string for your card, put this in your org.chameleon.Boot.plist.

 

I don't know much about distros to be honest, they spell disaster in 95% of cases as you just don't know what's been done to the files.

If you aren't prepared to try a retail install I really don't know what to suggest.

FYI I bought my Snow Leopard 10.6.3 retail disk on eBay for £8 including postage, and that was nearly 2 years ago. It's not like they're expensive.
