Do I need a developer account to install ML? I'm using 10.7.2 right now w/o any problem.
Should I wait for the official release? If I install GM, will it expire? And will I be able to update it to the official version when out?

hi
The GM (Golden Master) is the final version of OS X, except a major problem, so the "official" version that you will find on the Mac App Store will be this one, The Golden Master.
To install OS X Mountain Lion, you need to buy the official version (19.99$) or open a developer account (99$/year) to obtain the Golden Master.
There is indeed another way to get the GM, but it's not allowed on the forum !
