timofcourse
Do you have sound working? If so, was there anything specific you had to do to get it working? Im running Mac 10.6 on VMware 8.0.1 and Windows 7 x64 and the Mac VM says theres no sound device connected.
thecrazy
Do you have sound working? If so, was there anything specific you had to do to get it working? Im running Mac 10.6 on VMware 8.0.1 and Windows 7 x64 and the Mac VM says theres no sound device connected. The sound works but not good at all, use the drivers in the package of v1.0.2 unlock (darwin.iso)
timofcourse
Is there anything beyond installing the VMware tools that needs to be done? The only thing i can think of that could be an issue is when I first installed the OS I didnt have a Sound Card added to my VM. I added the sound card after it was installed. But I did install the VMware tools after.
Donk
Post your VMX file and also check the Mac OS X settings to make sure the volume is not muted. Sounds stupid but I did exactly that today.
timofcourse
Here it is. Also, Im sure its not a volume issue. As you can see in the attached screenshot nothing shows up under Output or Input devices in Sound. Let me know if anything sticks out or if you need any more info. Donk
I can't see anything wrong with the VMX file. Could you try specifying the host sound device to use rather than auto-detect? FYI - usual practice is to attach the VMX and not post inline as makes the thread had to follow.
bstanley
OS X 10.7.2 successfully upgraded to 10.7.3 on ESXi 5 ... required the same procedure to copy and replace the AppleLSIFusionMPT.kext file as described in the post: Fix Lion 10.7.2 on VMware http://www.insanelym...howtopic=270140 Can sound be made to work on ESXi5 on Server Hardware with no physical sound card?
