Hi,

10.7.2 update keeps popping up since last few weeks now, I'm not sure if I should update cause I'm afraid it might mess up my hackintosh. Can someone please confirm if I should go ahead and do it or not... this is my config:

• Gigabyte Z68 XP UD3R
  
• Core i7 2600K
  
• Sapphire HD 6850

Everything works perfectly right now, if I update, I've read I just need to reinstall the sound drivers. Any other precautions do I need to take before and/or after the update?

Clone your installation to another drive/external HDD using Carbon Copy Cloner and boot into it.
Download the combo update and install it to the external drive.
If it won't boot, use your internal HDD to boot, then fix the install on the external drive.

Once you have the external drive booting, use the same process to install to your internal HDD.

I do this when ever I have to update as a safety precaution.

Great advice, but I don't have a spare external HDD, but even if i used the one I have, its just 160GB while my Macintosh HD weight more than 500GB!

Would be great if someone having the same motherboard confirms wether they updated successfully.
