Hello,

Installed using the later method ( updating to 10.6.7 and use multibeast 3.4 ) onto a external drive and had great success ( I believe my only mistake was choosing 6.1 on system rather than 4.1....which could explain the kernel panic.... )

The only problem I seem to have is that either A.) it's in 32bit mode so its not reading the rest of my ram... or B.) it's just not picking up the other 2gb stick

Should I redo the install? or is there a way to force read all 6gb of ram?

Cheers

Ok i have been following this post pretty closely for about two weeks now and am happy to say that after many installs of mac i have finally gotten the mic to work. What doesnt seems to work for me still is:

Sleep
Keyboard Backlight
Wireless N

So here is how i got the mic to work. Go to /System/Library/Extensions/****.kext and delete all kext with HDA in it except AppleHDADisabler.kext

After that use KextHelper to install the attached kext file. Run Kext Utility. Then reboot.

That worked for me, Hope it helps everyone else. Cant wait till the rest it all working.

worked great :(

For those of you who used the voodooHDA to get the mic working, do you experience clicks during your music? When i'm listening, I noticed that the sound quality is worse than when I was using the AppleHDA in conjunction with the voodoo one.

@madr0n
Think you can update the dsdt for me?

I guess the only thing that I only want is sleep to work correctly. It will go to sleep but when it wakes, the screen will stay black.

does the same. I can see the LCD turn on but it's still black. I know the computer turns on but cannot see anything on the screen.

sound use voodooHDA, wireless is impossible, if i'm right the wireless is intel 6250 agn, eh? you need to get a wifi usb dongle(usb wifi extension) if you want wifi

Ok, so after many failed attempts to get this right (usually ending with the grey screen with the power button of death telling me to power off the machine and signaling to me that I have to start the process all over again), I'm thinking I'm to getting this down.

I hadn't caught on at first about not only leaving the G73.aml on the desktop when running multibeast, but also putting it in the extras folder and copying the folder to root. The lingering question here is what to do with replacing the boot file. My knowledge of the mac file system blows, but I've learned enough to plug in the command in terminal to show hidden files. I just can't seem to locate the directory for the boot file that needs to be replaced with the OP's.

I think those where the last two things remaining for me to finally get my hackintosh up and ready.

1) iboot
2) format extended journaled and install SL
3) reboot off iboot
4) install 10.6.7
5) run G73 patcher
6) copy the newly created .aml into extras folder
7) copy extras folder into root
8) select the successful configs already stated in this thread into multibeast
9) run multibeast
10) everything should theoretically work, reinstall other half of memory taken out

If any of this looks wrong, please feel free to correct me.

Boot, what to do about boot though? :)

As stated by the OP, doesn't the boot file need to be replaced? I can't seem to find the directory where its located.
