I've been looking through different threads on here and tonymacx86 for the past few days. I've been using the ##### + ##### method from tonymacx86's blog, and my problem is that after the initial install, if I install the 10.6.4 update and/or run ##### with UserDSDT or #####, I can't boot into SL again. I've heard it's my video card, but before running the update or #####, it works fine and runs with QE/CI since there are ripples in the Dashboard. Everything else works fine out of the box too, like audio and ethernet/airport. Here's a list of my hardware:

Asus P7P55 LX

Intel i7-860

ATI Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 512MB

4GB Kingston RAM

I feel like I'm so close. I've been trying the different methods found on this forum but they're all for older updates like 10.6.3 or older, and none of them has worked.

If anyone has a similar setup, please let me know what you did to get SL fully working, and suggestions are all welcome.

what are you trying to fix by editing your DSDT if you already have everything working OOB

I was just saying the things I did from the very beginning. The last few times I tried, I didn't run UserDSDT or #####. I've also tried just running Chameleon and System Utilites tasks, but I still couldn't get in after restarting.

Hmm, See if you can try this method at bottom for your graphics. Then again it might not be the problem.

In most encounter with updates and not having my graphics card work simply left me with a blank screen or a grey logo frozen on the screen. But the start up sound that I installed played so my system was booted completely and key klick also worked to reveal yes, its all working. Just needed to fix graphics kexts.

Keep tinkering you'll get it
