Hi

I want to use my Hackintosh to capture and edit video, my firewire port is reconized and appers in the system profile, but when I connect my Samsung scd-27, the system profile says "unknow device" and nothing happens, in windows my camcorder works fine, in the manual says that is MacOS X compatible.

Why doesn´t work?

Is there any with the same problem?

I don have another device to probe the firewire port under MacOS X86

Please help..

My specs are in my sign

try using a hub or daisy chain to a firewire HD, I've seen this happen even on the core2 iMacs once you use the hub or HD it will recognize the device.

Hey I was having the same problem with it not recognizing my cannon gl2, but the firewire port was good because it recognized my Maxtor One touch HD. I just used the open firewire port on the maxtor and then my camera was recognized by final cut express 4. Thanks!
