Beerkex'd
Do you mean Taruga's AppleHDA Patcher? IIRC you need a codec dump from Linux to use that. And I think you can't just use any ALC889a codec dump either, it has to be from your motherboard. You asked how to find the pin configs, that's why I posted the link. There's a whole lot of ALC889 info here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=140941 Anyway if you want to do this The Easy Way™ just install VoodooHDA and be happy. Latest development here: http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=
sirbow2
yeah this isnt even my mobo so im done wasting my time on it ill just use voodoo. jsut to make sure the only thing i have to do to get voodoohda to work is to delete AppleHDA, correct? thanks for all the help. i was thinking about changing the topic so it would be easier to find and maybe help some other people that have similar problems, what should i change it to? Beerkex'd
I guess you could change it to "The great Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H thread" or something like that. Looking back, we didn't really fix anything here - I'm not sure this thread will be useful to anyone. Yes, delete AppleHDA.kext before installing VoodooHDA..and cross your fingers. And tell your friends to buy Intel CPUs and motherboards with Intel chipsets if they want to run Mac OS.
