All of everything is explained! Many people on this forum and other forum friends managed to install it without any worries ....

Synesthesia, for the sleep using a USB keyboard to test if this case just not there ... It is possible that your graphics card raises concerns ... this System is optimized for 64bit, 32bit version was not tested for myself since I do not see the point of remaining on the 32bits while 64bit works perfectly:)

Synesthesia : It's the PS2 kexts you installed that prevents the sleep I think!

Which technique are you using to install? Are you using a DSDT.aml file? To be honest I didn't even boot from the disk, I did everything from an 8gb Flash Disk. I didn't use retail either, I used Hazard 10.6.2, which I know is herecy amongst some people but worked fine.

All you need are a few kexts, a DSDT and the chameleon, all supplied in the pack and any type of Snow Leopard works.

This tuto was tested with only DVD "Retail" (DVD, dmg retaured to flashdisk or HDD partition) no other distribution....

I don't have sleep no matter what. I blame my nVidia card! Will look around for a solution, but I don't mind too much.

Boot CD = no good for me
Installed using TonyMac guide still  no sleep and aml doesn't work for me.

Using Q6600 or might purchase a Q8400



Maybe time for a new board. :-(

I have tested my bootCD, it work !

I found something interesting a soon as I add any of the DSDT.aml files the machine freezes with IOAPIC error if remove them, I can boot from a bootcd and only then

I have it booting now with no DSDT.aml file I will try to create a generic one now.  I have orange icons in my Finder

OK, I have it working. Decided not to to go the DSDT.aml configuration. I have it working with Kexts located in the Extra Folder I'm sure I don't have speedstep working but at least my machine is up and working.

I will probably toy with creating my own DSDT as soon as I find a good How-to.   Thanks everyone

I don't understand ! The dsdt.aml works with everyone and you no !   Use DSDT Patcher GUI and post you file

I had to force compile it with HPET. Let me know if you need the error log too.

The mine is the same with the same first error ! without correction ! try with the mine and take a screenshot where you bug !

The AHCI is enabled, the S3 mode in teh Bios?

I have tried all 4 of them I get the same error ioapic then it freezes.  From that point I have to boot from a distro or retail and use terminal to delete the DSDT.aml file.  Then the machine boots just fine with the Kexts loaded in the E/E dir.

Yes I have all the selections configured in the Bios

Hmm I wonder if I could call the DSDT file from the command line so I could test easier?


Currently trying from the command line DSDT=/file.name! Thats not working for some reason

modify the file dsdt.aml which you have to generate if it functions and addition there my fix! But good I do not understand that you would be the only one for whom the file prevent starting !

Yes very strange.  Would my add on Firewire card cause it?

Yes good idea, only problem I do not yet have the skills to edit the file properly

It works cool ! But with that which I rectified previously ??? It's normally because the "alias" in CPU section was remove for the core 1 and 2 not 3 et 4  

EDIT : try to use MSR tools in 32bits mode for know if your speedstep is correctly enabled (no NullCPUPowerManagement in Extra so .... it work normally ! )

make me a summary of which functions or does not function please

With the last fix only 2 cpus work?  I am still using Kexts in the /Extra folder.  I will remove them and keep trying to see what is working and not working.  Are there any other fixes in the last DSDT.aml file?

No in dsdt i have upload, 4 core works In Extra you must have "only" SuperVIAATA.kext
