Thank you for your reply.

The only way I know to check the loaded extensions is using system profiler. And it does not show any of the hacked kexts.

Screen Grabs attached.

Most of the 'hacked' kext not shows in System profiler =). Use kext wizard to see other kexts loaded.

Thanks again.

You are absolutely right. Now I know the kexts I need to put in the extra folder.

Thank you SO much for all your postings regarding the P7P55D motherboard and its sound problems. I have learned a lot from them but still my sound doesn't work properly. I noticed what you said about Skype, but I don't have it installed yet so I don't know what else the problem can be.

I wanted to ask you what was in your Extras folder, so I can double check.
I believe it could be a problem with the onboard sound card and my Audio interface. I have tried disabling the onboard sound card in BIOS, but it didn't work - maybe it isn't disabled or perhaps BIOS doesn't fully deactivate it.

This is driving me crazy, so I hope you have some ideas.

THank you for your time.

First some questions =)

Leopard? Snow Leopard? Lion?
What's in the extra folder?
How bootloader?
You use a DSDT?

( The bios is upgraded? 2003 )
If not, do it =)

Hi Kenshin

My BIOS is up to date
I have booted to a 10.6.7 OSX (after trying 10.6.8).
I am using ##### for Snow Leopard, version 3.9.0
I loaded my custom DSDT, System Permissions, and tried all of the VoodooHDA kexts

Here is my Extras folder

As I said, I think the problem is the Edirol FA-101 communication. If I can turn off the VIA sound card, the interference might stop.
I have done a lot to my system to try get it working. If you have any questions, please ask.

Thanks!!!

Hey Guys!

I'm having issues with this board too, but it's getting worse.
First I had the crackling noise with the VoodooHDA 0.2.7.3 (and often had kernel panics because this kext). But I've managed to fix this problem by installing the 0.2.1 version and deleting AppleHDA kext. It worked for a day. Next day when I tuned on my machine the audio gone again. I reinstalled the voodoo kext but nothing. - I have 2 HDD's for opsystems. 1 for Win7 and 1 for the OSX. - So I booted up Win to see to have audio there, but I didn't had any sound either. Then I disconnected the HDD with the OSX on it, and voila I had sound on Windows... I did this with the OSX but with no luck... So now I have sound on Windows IF the HDD with the mac on it is disconnected, but I don't have any sound the opposite way (on OSX with win HDD disconnected). I don't have any ideas whats going on, and I really new to OSX86. Can someone help me please?!
Almost forgot, I have iATKOS L1 OSX Lion 10.7.1 installed and use DSDT-t from tonymacx86 database.

After following your guide the sound does not work, but is recognized in the panel. Unfortunately now goes into kernel panic. How can I fix this?

I'm sorry for this inconvenience, delete the VoodooHDA.kext with the terminal from the mac os x setup. Usually this fix the kernel panic, otherwise post the screen of kp

Unfortunately I don't use that hardware =), so I can't help you, sorry. Now I hear the sound but if i set volume at max ( 100% ) the sounds crackles. The switch with frontal panel works, but i have to live togheter with this problem, better than nothing.

Hi Kenshin
Thanks for the tip.
I managed to find a VIA sound card disabler but it didn't solve the problem. I lost sound on my Win 7 install (obviously) and it did nothing to change the audio stops.

I have kept looking for solutions with no luck but hopefully this will be solved.

Cheers

BTW, do you have a link for this topic on Google Code?

This kext worked for me. Obviously remove the earlier version of voodoohda with the little guide in 1st page of this post, and remove AppleHDA also. I found this kext in the google code project of voodoohda.

Maybe we arrived at the end!

PS: Skype cause delay in my case. Use with carefully. I solve only with a time machine restore.

The first time my Disk Utility said it. This time, after copying it into the folder, Finder said it....
What do you think?

With Mountain Lion you have a solution?

Temporarily use a USB sound card (which runs natively)
