I would need some testers with 4670/4650 with two dvi ports in #radeonhd

I have an ATI HD4650 DVI + HDMI in my Compaq DC7100 OsX 10.5.7 (Clean install from iATKOS v7).

I am keen to beta test the DVI and if that goes well I will try the HDMI on the Plasma.

Thanks,

Chris

I have an Acer 6930g with an 4650 and I have added it's id 0x94801002 to the info.plist but when it boots I get a Black/blured image (the black comes from the midle until its everything black).

I forgot to had that i am runing a straight from upgrade disk install, not 10.6.1.

mobile version maybe will need Shrike as FB, not Peregrine, anyway welcome to #radeonhd channel for testing.

Last time I still posted my results on the channel but netkas_ was already offline, tonight when I get back from University I will log to try Shrike ;)

  • 2 weeks later...
any news on the mobility's yet? I would love to get os x running on my lappy with the HD 4570.

Mobility is no go.

On the other hand, I just purchased an Asus low pro 4650 1gb ddr2 thinking that it might work. Nope it does not. I tried all sorts of possible solutions to no joy. It just gives me a black screen (monitor going to sleep).

While in that blank screen state, I tried accessing my hack using Tight VNC (from my Win7 laptop) and checked if the kext are loaded. Yes, all needed kexts were loaded. ATI4600Controller.kext / ATIFramebuffer.kext / ATIRadeonX2000.kext / ATISupport.kext / etc ... all are successfully loaded but still no video. I went to system profiler and found under Graphics Displays:

Display Connector:

Display Connector:

They were all blank. It is not detecting the monitors that are connected. I'm suspecting that ATISupport or ATIFramebuffer kexts are causing this problem.

My monitor has 2 ports - DVI and VGA. I tried all sorts of connection possibilities like DVI to DVI / VGA to VGA / DVI to VGA using dongle / HDMI (from my tv) to HDMI .. all are no go.

Hoping for a fix soon, if there will be.

I have been following this forum for the past seven months looking for a solution for the 4650. When netkas released his post saying there were drivers for the 4650, I was all happy that I am going to install snow leopard on my sony fw laptop.

it turns out that mobility does not work!!!

this really sucks!
