mdg
I am using a nearly clean / vanilla install. I had to do zero to get the 9800 GTX+ 512 MB working...I guess the new Chameleon auto sets it. I ran some benchmarks ... and whoa!! Performance of video is like 1/2 of what it used to be. So, I have a couple questions... Is it a "false" positive...meaning, is Xbench not optimized of Snow Leopard? Is the performance really/actually worse in 10.6 vs 10.5? Is there an alternate way to get the 9800 GTX+ working in 10.6 that would yield better results? Please advise... Thanks! /mdg.
mitch_de
YEs, forget XBench for OS X >= 10.4. Never updated since 10.3 time - even an UB App its extreme old and uses only very little testwindow+very limited OpenGL commands( At least OpenGL values are UNREAL /USELESS ! GMA 950 performs in XBench better than an ATI 2600 XT ... not really , OR? Use OpenGLExtensionsViewer : fullscreen, multisampling *4, Benchmark Here my bench results (from Leo, SL near same values - no significant differences)
