It turns out that I had stumbled across a distro that is rather unique in that it does not have the Chameleon , it has no interface, other then the text that boots into.

No special commands are found and I am not sure if it is still being seeded or not.
but this disk has been so far the fastest and least breaky of all. I have tried.

I even tried a 10.5.7 disk with chameleon but it broke after up dating to 10.5.8.

I realize that there are many distro's out there and I won't bash any one one of them as we all have different systems.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525.

I realize I am a newbee. But, I can adapt and learn.

I have been a windows user for a longtime and I am really sick of the stacks and stacks or disks I have that have partial this an that called crap ware.

I will be saving up for a real mac and would like to say thank you for opening my eyes to a new world.

Yes i have used Linux based Os's but I believe this s a "Unix"? system?"  and I have noticed many commands are the same and probably a few different ones as well.

I also would like to say that It was out of sheer desperation that I had chosen to down load this I use choen because it was a decision I made knowing fully that it may or may not be supported, might have bugs and other issues..

I hope to learn and grow in my knowledge and i hope to contribute for the greater good.

Yes, I have heard of the XxX distro, I have not used it, I originally started my journey (a little over a year ago) with Leo 4all distro (10.5.2 I think). Allot has happened to the Osx86 scene since then. The preferred method these days is a retail install. I think if you search the forums, you might find a installation guide for your Dell Insperion, I think I have seen it in the forums. Good luck and welcome.

ah I see, well, i am planing to go with a mac in the very near future. after realizing how much easier it is to use, plus, and yes, I have seen the forum for this install.

I also realized that I have cut down the need for disks by 85 percent...it is amazing MAC doesn't come with much crapware. it simply just works..took me a while to figure out all I have to do is "delete" what I don't want.

any how this thing is up and running with no glitches eh unless I happen to leave a card in the card reader and then eject it ouch after restarting.

I am most defiantly impressed It is astalavista vista after I get the one video edited..with the new camera I'll be getting and OSX snow leopard and hopefully a new mac, I can get down to some real business.

I hope to be able to convert my mother though...I am willing to pay for something works then for something that doesn't, and I beta tested  Win7 I hate the calling home feature.


I like to test things before I get it oh did I mention tat I have even my epson printer working lol...

I just wanted to say thanks for at least providing a way for a person to see what this software is about..

Heard Snow leopard will run on Intell PC .

that 29.00 upgrade is sure a shock..

Oh have you guys had a chance at that program that I uploaded, I lost the post ..it is the broad com driver as a package so far it seems to work on 10.5.6 and up. and where is the proper place and procedure for doing something like that?
