Hello, I tried to make a topic earlier this week, but nobody really answered me, so yes, its a Acer Aspire.

It has a Intel Pentium Dual-Core 2GHz

4GB of RAM (2.93 detected by Vista x64)

300GB Hard Drive

Atheros AR5B91 Wireless Card

Intel GMA4500M Mobile

Windows Vista Home Premium x64

Please recommend me a OSx86 distro that would work. Thanks!

-Distros attempted:

-iATKOS 10.5.5 - Failed, setup crashed

-iDeneb 10.5.5 - Disc refused to load

-Kalyway 10.5.2 - Wouldnt get past Migration Assistant.

I downloaded iPC 10.5.6, would that work? If not, tell me.

I have a solution for everyones problem with the never ending cycle of the migration assistant.Once you have installed leopard reboot as directed and on reboot hit F8 before the countdown ends.

Now you should be faced with a typing interface. type "-s" without the quotes. wait till the words start scrolling and type

"/sbin/fsck -fy"

wait till scrolling stops and then type "/sbin/mount -uw/ "

Then"passwd root ##"

now the screen will display "password:"

type a password of your choice. It won't display in text so type carefully. Then confirm your new password.

Now type "touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone

Now type "exit"

after a little while you should now be booted up into leopard. All that does is skip over the setup process, but it works. This is what I did on my Aspire Hackintosh and now am dual booting Kalyway 10.5.2 and Windows 7 RC. Hope this helps.

My Aspire 5735Z is running Snow Leopard (10A394) and the most interesting thing is that Snow Leopard has driver for Atheros AR5B91 which works perfectly as Airport.

So wireless is working. For graphics I have 1366x768 with grub2 and I closely follow this tread: GMAX4500

Ethernet-is not working

Sound - VoodooHDA, mic is not working (I'm using Creative Xmod)

I just tried to install 10.5.6 on mine as well but no luck. The first attempt when loading off the HDD had a cancel sign show up on top of the apple logo. Which packages did you install?
