If you have ALC889a audio and can't get it to work we have a simple package for you!

Download and unzip the file, and then follow the instructions

Side notes:The board that this was tested and confirmed working on was a GA-X38-D24

"Disclaimers: We don't take responsibility for the kexts or files provided, we did not write them, only consolidated them and wrote instructions to setup ALC889a audio only."

Good post, work fine for me(ALC889a, Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R Kalyway 10.5.2, EFI 8.0)

THX  :(

Previously on Leo 10.5.1 it's works with AppleHDAPatcherv1.20 & ALC_885_Codec.txt. See attachment...

After I rebooted it didn't work "out-of-box" but then I just turned the volume up a bit in the sound preferences and now it works like a charm. Love it!

Thx again!

My MB is a Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 BTW.
