I upgraded SL 10.6 (Base Install), and when i rebooted it Chameleon stills shows and i entered -v -f -s -x, and it will load the kexts, but then go Black. I can't even get into single user mode. I have a

AMD Phenom II x4 OC @ 3.6Ghz

NVIDIA GTS 450

MSi 880G-e43 MB (ATI CHIP)

4GB of Ddr3 1600

The system worked (except graphics (needed to update first)) But now what should i do?

Any help will be appreciated. SnoLeo 10.6 AMD/Intel Btw.

I had to use these commands to get it running the first time

mount -uw /

cd /

mkdir /ExtOff/

mv /System/library/Extensions/GeF* /ExtOff

mv /System/Library/Extensions/NV*kext /ExtOff

mv /System/Library/Extensions/ATI*kext /ExtOff

rm -r /System/Library/Extensions/Extensions.mkext

cd /

shutdown -r now

Second boot use -s use this comand:

mount -uw /

mkdir /ExtOff/

mv /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext /ExtOff/

mv /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementClient.kext /ExtOff/

rm -r /System/Library/Extensions/Extensions.mkext

cd /

shutdown -r now

And now i can't because i cant reach the terminal during boot. How would i do this from the install dvd terminal?

Booting the DVD now. (Black Screen Again)

Just run Terminal, go to /Volumes/OSXdrive/nameofyourOSXpartition and work from there.

No joy. I Don't know what causes this problem, so I don't know how to fix it. any ideas?

The nvidia drivers that ship with Snow Leopard have no support for Fermi architecture cards. You must install the Quadro 4000 drivers from nvidia.

Minimum requirements: MacPro model identifier (/Extra/smbios.plist) and 10.6.7.

Make sure you have GraphicsEnabler=n / no graphics Device Properties String / no graphics injector.kext installed until you have the Quadro 4000 drivers installed. If any injection method is active before the Quadro 4000 drivers are installed, you will not be able to boot.

As long as there is no injection method active, you should be able to boot in safe mode ( -x) without the Quadro 4000 drivers installed...at least that's how it works for me (460 GTX video card). I can boot my retail 10.6.3 install DVD (restored to a HDD partition) with Chameleon, only if I set GraphicsEnabler=n.
