SupraBlur
So I'm running 10.5.2 with vanilla kernel, but this problem has existed in all variations I've installed -- it's the well-documented KP associated with downloading torrents (have tried both Azureus and Transmission). I've also looked into the maxmem issue since I also have 4GB of RAM (Crucial 667mhz DDR2). Even turning it down to 3072 didn't help. Unfortunately I can't try pulling a single stick out because my motherboard requires matching pairs. Because the problem only occurs when I'm running torrents, I'm leaning towards it being the Air Port Express driver. The network card in question is a D-Link DWA-556 which otherwise works great. The rest of the system is a pretty straightforward Dell PowerEdge SC1430 (dual clovertown 1.6ghz), and the video card is an nVidia 5200 fx. Has anybody made any advancements towards this cause? I know a lot of people are suffering from the same issue, and it's the last instability in my entire setup (I'm otherwise ready to ramp up to 8GB of RAM and start doing some audio recording). Oh yeah, as the topic says, no kernel panic log has ever shown up in my /Library/Logs folder. -Ray Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/99968-still-kp-still-no-logs/ Share on other sites
