I downloaded the Leopard 10.5.2 AMD SSE2/SSE3 install dvd.

My system is:

Asus a8n-vm csm (nforce4)

AMD athlon xp 3200+ (sse3)

sata hard drive

ati radeon x800+

When i load the install dvd, it hangs on the following message (before the splash screen):

"Extensions "com.apple.driver .AppleACPIPlatform" has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi"

I've tried disabling acpi in my bios, same error, and giving the install options Platform=ACPI and Platform=X86PC.

Any suggestions?

edit: someone moved this to tiger... im using a leopard install dvd, can this please be moved back to Leopard

I unplugged a usb hard drive i had attached to the computer, and now the sata drive is the only drive.

Now, the acpi problem seems to have gone away - when i boot with no options, or -x, i get the following message:

"Still waiting for root device"

And it seems to hang here.
