clemson
wanted to share my sucess story with a triple boot of xp / vista / kalyway osx 10.5.1 Installed this on my HP Compaq 6910p 2gigs of RAM 250gig WD hard drive ATi x2300 vid card First Installed using the kalyway DVD using Mbr. Formated my drive: 30gig Mac Journal extended, 20 gig MS dos, 200 gig MS dos went through osx installation w/o a hitch. Next i installed XP. Had to activate the 20 gig partition in xp setup. installed w/o a hitch At this time the darwin bootloader was able to dual boot no problem. Next i had to go into the xp diskmanager and active the 200gig partition so that Vista would install on that partition. Installed Vista with no problems. When vista installed is deactivated the OSX partition. Used the Kalyway DVD w/ -s option. Typed the following to activate the OSX partition fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 flag 2 (number may vary, but it should be the partition number of the OSXinstall) write update quit reboot at this time i booted all the way into OSX and opened up a terminal (application --> utilities ---> terminal) and typed the following fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 flag 3 (number may vary, but it should be the partition number of your Vista install quit Now i put in the Vista DVD and boot to it (because you'll get an error if you try to boot directly into vista) click repair and reboot At this time you should be able to reboot back into vista but not into OSX So I used the kalyway dvd again with -s and typed this fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 flag 2 (number may vary, but it should be the partition number of the OSXinstall) quit reboot Now you should be able to boot into all three. Thanks to all the help on this forum!! tripple booting rocks
w_tanoto
hi!! new here.... I'm pretty much at the same situation as you. I plan to install it on my HP Pavilion HDX9095EA laptop, but delayed it because I am waiting for Windows Vista SP1 for all languages and Windows XP SP3, so I can re-install it all together. My spec is as follows: HP Pavilion HDX9095EA laptop 20.1 inch screen ATi Mobility Radeon XT2600HD GDDR3 256MB (ironically, I am a fan of nVIDIA) 4GB HDD 250GB WD HDD x 2 = 500GB Blu-ray BD-RE Drive Panasonic UJ-210 Now, here is my planned partition: Disc 0 Partition 1: Vista 120GB Partition 2: Mac OS X 50GB Partition 3: Installation Files for the software installed on my laptop 70GB Partition 4: HP Recovery Partition 10GB Disc 1 Partition 1: XP 30GB Partition 2: Documents 220GB now, is there any suggestion to change this structure? I have a bad experience with installing leopard last time (on my desktop, HP Pavilion a6235l). So, I need a help this time I am no good at mac OSX commands. Could you clarify the number (i.e. flag 2 or flag 3) and what partition it's reffering to? thanks in advance
Temujin-13
CLEMSON, I was curious. I'm also getting ready to install on an HP 6910P. Did you manage to get Network up and running? Any caveats?
