Whiternoise
Now i've got the net working, every application under the sun is telling me that i can update it. I've disabled the main sofware update, so i can install .5.2 manually, but what's the situation regarding stuff like iTunes and Quicktime - do they need to be installed manually, or will an auto update do the trick? Thanks! For reference.. insomnimac
Are you using the vanilla kernel? Most of the quicktime updates and itunes can be installed without brcikign your install. The airport update installs a new kernel so be wary of this, and unless you're using the vanilla kerbnel it will brick your install most likely. Use kalyway's 10.5.2 update combo to update from 10.5.1 to 10.5.2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/99717-what-updates-are-likely-to-break-my-1051-install/#findComment-712052 Share on other sites
Whiternoise
Airport i don't care about so much, as i'm using one of those fake ethernet solutions. I don't think i installed with the option of vanilla - as i got stuck in that reboot loop. Any way i can check though (i did a few installs so i can't quite remember what worked )? Thanks so far!
