ClamsTheCat
I have a Dell Inspiron 9100 Laptop that I finally got working ok by tweaking the setup, and getting a buddy at work to help. The only two things that don't work are: PCMCIA Wireless Card (Dell 1350, based on Broadcom 4306) Radeon 9700 Video (locked at 1024, 3d/2d very slow using a generic driver I assume) I would rather just find and install the drivers than reinstall etc. Especially since I want to learn how. I was under the impression that all the broadcom drivers would be built in though. So I am wondering if the PCMCIA bus driver is what is missing? How can I find out? When I insert a PCMCIA card nothing happens (like it doesn't even detect that something was inserted). Is this normal? Also does anyone have an easy fix to install radeon 9700 video drivers? There are 9800 mac drivers for 10.4 Tiger on AMDs/ATIs site (9700 probably could use them) but I wasn't sure if that was a good idea since it was a newer version os/kernel. Thanks! ClamsTheCat
Bump. Anyone who has a good tutorial on installing my Mobility Radeon 9700 drivers (9600 and 9800 drivers should work I think too) I would appreciate it. I would have assumed they would be built in to 10.5.2 Kalyway (clean install), but they don't appear to be detecting on install. I am stuck at 1024x768.
