Hi OK I'm a n00b... But I've been reading around and learning a bit about ktexts. Apparently as i understand it ktexts are kernel drivers for OS X?

From what I can tell, this does seem to be the case - but the problem is I don't know where to find them, or how to install them for my system.

Which is a problem, since currently my system runs like a dog with no proper ATA and no proper video support. (See my config in my signature).

Can anyone give me any hints and of where to get these ktext files and which would be most useful for my system - and hopefully how to apply them too...

Maybe if there was just a general easy to follow Gentoo or Ubuntu style guide discussing .ktexts this would be very helpful to a lot of people?

As I said, I have been reading around the forums and the Wiki and I'm picking up little snippets here and there. However it is all very widely scattered and not very coherent.

Also I am contemplating buying/building a new PC so that I don't have to do any more complex patching than is necessary. Can anyone recommend a nice feature filled motherboard that is fully supported in OS X and which will work with as little additional configuration as possible?

GJ
