bf2loser
have you tried updating to 10.5.2? I'm running vanilla kernel after the update, just had to remove the AppleIntelPowerManagenment.kext or whatever it is and add in PS2 support for my keyboard. If your keyboard stops working (and its PS2 at least, dont know if this works for usb) unplug it and plug it back in, while mac is turned on. That fixes mine when it quits working Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/99432-ds3l-problems/#findComment-709758 Share on other sites

bf2loser
You can remove the Intel power management kext, infact I belive you are supposed to. If you're using a PS2 keyboard then removing it would make your keyboard not work anymore, if you're using USB keyboard then I don't see a problem, but there isn't really any point anyways. wuetzchen
there isn't a file which is named like that... or isn't it in System/Library/Extensions?? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/99432-ds3l-problems/#findComment-709877 Share on other sites
bf2loser
Yea, if youre talking about the power management one, I dont remember what its called though. Either AppleIntelPowerManagement.kext or it might just be IntelPowerManagement.kext but its in the Extensions folder. If you installed from kaliway or something like that its probably been deleted already though Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/99432-ds3l-problems/#findComment-709882 Share on other sites

Ianxxx
have you installed all the updates, if not then do so. Make sure you are running vanilla 9.2.2 kernel and matching system.kext you can check this open terminal and type uname -r you should see 9.2.2 for system.kext go into system profiler and click on extensions if you see system.kext loaded then so far so good. then replace your dsmost.kext with this one, http://www.86.talktalk.net/dsmos.kext.zip with any look that will fix your shutdown problem but not if you startup with -v option and make sure you have speedstep disabled in bios. As for about this mac try updating AppleSMBIOS.kext google macdotnub As for your keyboard with any look it will be fixed by the replacement dsmos.kext but can't guarantee this as I use usb Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/99432-ds3l-problems/#findComment-711000 Share on other sites
