Hi there!

I have two laptops with the following configurations

Acer:

AMD Sempron Mobile 2800+

ATi Mobility X600 PCIe with 64MB VRAM

ATi Chipset (not sure which, but it's ATi)

FSC

Intel Pentium M 725 with 1.6 GHz

Intel 855GME Graphics (with max. 64MB VRAM)

Intel 855 GM Chipset

Now I'm looking for the right install DVD do get a OSX up and running. I have the Uphuck v1.4i 10.4.9 successfully installed on the FSC (I don't give much on the acer, should I?), but it doesn't boot up. It was quite annoying that the "internal" keyboard and mouse (touchpad) didn't work and I had to attach external ones, but I got further than I got with my acer, where the setup didn't even start (must be the chipset).

The boot on the FSC stops after

using 2621 buffer headers and 2621 cluster IO buffer headers

I read about missing VRAM before, but I can read

VESA v3.0 7MB (Intel(r)852GM/852GME/855GM/855GME Graphics Chip Accelerated VGA BIOS)

so missing VRAM couldn't be the couse, or?

I have a "screenshot" attached with all messages.

So, is the DVD I used a "good" one for my laptop or are there better ones around? If first, what do I have to tweak on the installation (Ubuntu for hard drive access available) or if second, which DVD do you suggest? I think Leopard will not work on this Laptop, so I posted it in here!

Regards and thanks in advance,

meilon

Okay, here I am! Now with JaS 10.4.8 successfully installed!

What works:

  • It boots up
  • Sound
  • LAN (Thanks to this Post)

What does not work

  • WLAN
  • Internal Keyboard & Touchpad
  • DVD Playback (I don't think it will work, am I right?)

It's 11:10 pm here, I got to bed now, trying new things tomorow!

Thanks to tbu3 for the hint with the JaS DVD!

Regards,

meilon

UPDATED: LAN now works!
