3dadd
I also have an Acer Ferrari 5000 and can get it running OK with Kalway 10.5.2. Here are my successes and issues: Kernel = kernel_9.2_speedstep (need to install usb_fix1.3.mpkg to get USB working) Graphics = DO NOT SELECT ANY !!! - none of these work for ATI Mobile x1600 - I had to follow the instructions to get rid of the black screen. I have this mostly working. Natitx1600 worked the best with DUMP from Windows. Also important to change the device type to 0x71c51002. Lots of issues: Detect Displays will cause your screen to go black, HDMI would not work. VGA only sometimes.I'm still working on this. I use Apple Remote Desktop and can control my Acer Ferrari remotely when the screen goes black. Using Apple Remote desktop is a huge time saver! Audio=Intel NVIDIA VIA ATI HD Audio Controller - everything works except Inputs (keyboard volume works!) Network_Cards - Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet NO SOLUTION YET ! DEAD! Wifi_Card= I080211Family AND wifi_Atheros_Adapter Mobo_Chipsets =Select all of them Patches: Hardcoded = Use default or MacBook Patches : TimeMachine and PowerManagement_bundle Other Issues I'm still working on : Boots SSSSLLLLOOOWWW - 2 minutes to boot. PCMCIA and Express slots do not work Card Reader does not work(no fix) HDMI - does not work yet. Related to the ATIinject.kext or NatitX1600.kext I guess AUdio Input Modem (why bother?) VGA - sometimes works (again x1600 issue) AMD_1052_Patches = either AMD_1052_Patch-test_1 or 2 worked for me. (did not need legacy flag) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/99155-help-acer-ferrari-5000-amd-hardware-compatibility/#findComment-750093 Share on other sites
