CD ROM wont wake up after sleep

I have installed Kal 10.5.1 with sleep kernel. For the most part, sleep mode, shut down, screen saver all works flawlessly. But whenever I wake up from sleep mode my CD/DVD burner does not respond. I tried ejecting it and nothing happened. At that point, i cannot even restart from osx and i have to manual reset the machine. After restarting the burner works like usual.

 

Legacy USB is off in bios.

 

Any help would be appreciated.
