djcrazymonkey
Hi, I have the card noted above, and have installed the VIA Rhine driver sucessfully (it was included on the Zephyroth DVD I used, but I have also reinstalled it twice.) and although OS X can see it in the system preferences and detect that there is a cable installed or not, DHCP only comes up with a 169.254.*.* IP with a subnet of 255.255.0.0. I've tried setting the address manually, and that doesn't work. I've also tried playing with most of the settings in Networking, to no avail. The HCL says that this card has been known to work, and OS X recognises it, so I'm slightly at a loss as to why it doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. banana123
I've got the exact same issue on a Mac.Nub 10.4.10 install with a 8.9.1 kernel. DFE-530TX Rhine I network card ("rev. a" according to Windows) Also, the Rhine II integrated into my motherboard works perfectly with the exact same driver.
