fallingup
ok. So i have had it working before, and i didnt do anything differently this time. I had to edit the AppleRTL8139Ethernet.kext to get my onboard working, and now if i kextload after it boots, it works, but my wireless is detected as en0 and my onboard as en1 if i do it that way. I had it working before where the bsd names were switched/ in the correct spots, so any help would be nice! felaras
So whats the solution? I get: kernel extension /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleRTL8139Ethernet.kext has problems: Validation failures { "Executable file doesn't contain kernel extension code" = true } when I do: sudo kextload -t /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleRTL8139Ethernet.kext Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9797-kext-not-loading-on-boot/#findComment-62133 Share on other sites
fallingup
i just edited the network pref file to make my broadcom show up as bsd name en1 instead, look at the 10.4.3 broadcom wireless effort thread in drivers. but your problem looks like something really different than mine, cause i could load the kext, it just wouldnt do it on boot up. Whats your specs? osx ver? kext ver? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9797-kext-not-loading-on-boot/#findComment-62234 Share on other sites
