crazyJAT
So, I installed Kalyway 10.5.1 on my SSE2 system, replaced the kernel with the latest sse2 kernel and booted up. Boots past the grey screen with apple logo, the default mac os x wallpaper flashes on the screen then goes to a grey screen with cursor visible and controllable with mouse. However, finder never loads, the Starting Up Mac OS X Dialog never comes up. Is there anything special I have to do to get Kalyway 10.5.1 working on an SSE 2 machine other than replace the kernel? Do I have to remove AppleIntelCPU something kext or anything like that. Also, I have a Nvidia FX 5200 in this system, if that has anything to do with it. Any help at all would be great. Thanks! Beerkex'd
Try plugging your monitor into the other video output. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/97887-kalyway-1051-on-sse2-with-grey-screen-and-cursor/#findComment-1185329 Share on other sites
Chrystopher
Tried to set my bios to the onboard vga and plugged the monitor into the integrated socket but at boot I received kernel panic. Then I've removed the PCIexpress vga and left the monitor plugged in the integrated socket. Tried to boot but I've received the same error as like in the first post. Grey screen with moveable cursor and nothing else.
