legionX
I've tried sudo, and su I tried changing the root password, but it won't let me and this is a fresh install (Leo4All 10.5.2) I also tried the "enabling root in Leopard" thing I saw when I googled it, but the Directory tool doesn't seem to have any way to "enable root" that I can find. Please help, I need to edit some kexts to get everything working right. Alex HQuest
I've never used "su" directly: always went to "sudo bash" and worked with my current user's password. BigPimpin
In a terminal window type "sudo -s" and enter your regular password. Then entering "uid" should show your userid as "root". That doesn't work? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/97765-cant-get-root-working-default-password/#findComment-699235 Share on other sites
tman26
Make sure you actually have a password set instead of it just being blank, that can really screw with someone lol.
