Sustained Network Activity causes Gray Screen of Death

I still haven't gotten my machine to work properly after installing OSX 10.5.1 iAKTOS. If I download files using off the network or using safari, I will usually see the gray screen of death. I'm not 100% sure that my crashes are caused by network activity, but if not, it's a strange coincidence.

heres my system:

Dell Optiplex GX270

P4 3.0GHZ HT

1.0GB Kingston PC3200

ATI 9800PRO AGP 128MB

Anyone know how I can find out if the network activity is even what's causing these crashes?

Please help, I'm getting very frusterated with OSX being unusable, I'm about to ditch it in favor of Ubuntu.

Problem solved (not really)! I nuked my installation and decided not to mess with OSX 10.5 on my "Hackintosh" achiving much better results with 10.4.8 (but still investigating the best way to update to 10.4.11).

It's really too bad, this P4 is much faster than the dual G4 500mhz machine I've been borrowing, and I really like Leopard, but alas, it's just not meant to be :D
