unscene
I want to put the install DVD of iatkos on a USB Flash Drive and install from that. Flash drive is large enough right now, and I already restored to the usb drive using the image. My computer is a Dell D630, so it supports booting from a USB device. I am not sure what I am missing do I have to do something to the USB drive to make it bootable? Do I have to put extra settings in the BIOS, aside from making the boot device usb device.......? Since the DVD uses MBR I tried to fdisk but I just get this error: nebula:~ user$ fdisk -e /dev/rdisk2 fdisk: could not open MBR file /usr/standalone/i386/boot0: No such file or directory Any suggestions are appreciated. unscene
I've searched these forums and google with nothing to tackles this. I assume it is not possible? Well, actually I do think it is, just no one has an answer to this. d94
just curious ~ why are you even bothering since the d630 has a dvd drive? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/97619-how-to-put-iatkosv1ir2-on-usb-instead-of-dvd/#findComment-697811 Share on other sites
unscene
Speed comes to mind first, but there are numerous other reasons why I would like to use this. I don't have to burn at the slowest speed on a burner to get "optimal" results. Hate that.
