Silversnake Posted April 5, 2008 Share Posted April 5, 2008 Hello i need help with installing some sort of osx86 on my Toshiba Satilite A110 because i would really love to have either Leperd or Panther on it beause cus i love mac computers much more then windows but since i have a laptop i cant really change any of the hardware in it it has a ATI Express 200m Mobile chipset in it but i cant seem to get anything to run on it the only installation that will actually run on it is the macdotnub OSx86 v1-r5 installation but then after it installs it shows the white mac bootup screen with the grey apple in the middle but i only see that screen for a split second and then crashes and just reboots the computer. any help would be really appriciated thanks Richard. Ps the install discs all run on my other laptop and install fine but its a much bigger laptop and i dont like taking it places. also my entire set up is Graphics:ATI Radion xpress 200m Harddrive: 60 GB Ram: 1gb Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The ATI/AMD chipset is problematic AT BEST, some have success, some don't, and some can't be bothered. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=91612 http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=74426 I had "XxX_OS_x86_10.4.11_Install_Disc_Intel" up and running on a ATI/AMD chipset computer, and it simply wasn't worth the fight, there are far easier installs to achieve.
