youra
· Hidden Hidden I installed it on my second primary partition using deadmoo's image and dd with skip option and it worked nice. Then I rebooted several times into XP or MacOS and everything was ok. But then the partition suddenly disappeared after restart and I got "chain booting error". Partition Magic showed error #16 and was not able to show all other partitions. But I was able to boot XP without any problems. As far as I noticed, partition disappears after restart when I start the Startup applet in the Prefernces app(but I leave everything unchanged). Strange... How can I disable or remove Startup to prevent accidental clicks? Or what else can I do? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/974-disappearing-partition/

nightfrost
· Hidden Hidden Similar problem here. I'm using Linux as my main OS. I created a partition for OS X. The installation DVD had some issues formatting the partition but finally it succeeded doing that (never understood why). It finished the installation successfully. After the restart, however, grub wouldn't recognize the partition, so I booted back into linux and realized that the partition was gone altogether. Weird. What gives?
