I installed it on a p4 3ghz hyperthreading older cpu only sse2. I used the patch kit 1.0 and used the mach_kernel.all for the kernal it has all the patches except the amd ones since this is an intel chip on an intel board. 10.4.3 booted up really fast I used the Jas install. I follow all the instructions on that website that's now down. I copied it from google cache. Now it's been sitting on a blue background screen with just the mouse cursor for about 3 hours. I know in the instructions it said to "be patient" However I didn't think it would take this long.

What is the normal amount of time for this? And if this isn't normal what can I do to fix this?

You probably missed a step, or did something wrong, be careful following the steps.

Also try Repairing Permissions on the 10.4.4 drive.

It does take a wile in the gray screen and the loading OS X screen (nowhere near 3h), that's what he meant

I'm going to start all over. I'm mostly just trying to create this dual boot machine for practice because I just ordered parts for a second computer based on what I've read here. I'm getting an asus 915 based motherboard 2.9 ghz celeron D processor and 512 meg of ram. I have a sata 120 gig I'm going to use. That's if I can get it to work the damn little piece of plastic on the connector broke off and is stuck inside the cable connector. I got it to work with a little work. I ended up epoxying the cable to the back of the drive. Hope it stays working.

I want to have both machine dual boot but the second is going to be mostly for OSX. Windows xp will be on it for whatever reasons. Maybe a few network games or something. I'm going to keep both of them dual booting but I'm designing the one with OSX compatable parts in mind.

I'll post my results of both machines. I'm going to redo my whole installation of 10.4.4 right now.
