10.4.3 patched dvd no boot-prompt on acer aspire

i downloaded the 10.4.3 image, patched and burned on a dvd. i checked the md5s of the .dmg, the .iso, the patched .iso and of the burned dvd and everything is ok.

 

the problem is, that i dont even get a boot prompt at my laptop (acer aspire 2020 series: pentium m 755 i think (dothan w 2ghz 2mb cache)). it hangs just after printing the line: emulation booting.

 

the same thing happened when i downloaded the darwin 8.0 installer cd -> i dont get a boot prompt.

 

but i know that my driver can boot this sort of bootable cd/dvd (emulation booting), because my winxp cd is of the same type and it boots.

 

first i burned the dvd using nero. then with alcohol. makes no difference.

 

on my old desktop computer (athlon thunderbird 800) i get a boot prompt with both dvds but fails afterwards because cpu has no sse2. i knew that so no problem.

 

i also doesnt care that 10.4.3 will not work on my dothan according to other forum entries, i just want to get a boot prompt.

 

does anybody experienced this behaviour?

 

i have absolutely no clue why i dont get a boot prompt.

 

hope someone can help me.

 

btw vmware install is not working because my cpu is lacking pae.
