GileS
Well I followed these guides..they are pretty much the same Guide 1 Guide 2 Everything seemed to go okay until the part of the install where i select the storage device..nothing shows up. I currently have 3 drives disk0 is my windows drive disk1 is my extra drive to install 10.4.3 disk2 is my storage drive i created the partitions on disk1 and set the created partition to active...reboot...osx install loads. But no storage device shows up for me to install to..another strange thing i noticed is both guides stress to have a startup disk to set your active partition back to your windows one incase something goes wrong. But when i reboot it loads straight to windows..not sure if this is important. Another thing I noticed is that when i went to the disk utility in the installation utility menu it did display all drives...everything was normal on all except the one i was attempting to install on. This drive had the Verify Disk and Repair disk buttons active so i attempted to press these to see what happend and they informed me it wasnt a HFS partition..or something of that sort...well thats all the info I have..hopefully someone can help me out! Funkstar De Luxe
I have the same problem. I think it's becuase I/we have SATA HDD. In disk utility I can see my 160GB USB HDD, CD ROMS and Flash reader. Is there any way past this? Is it possible to partition my USB HDD and install on that? Eggman
Don't worry about those guides; they're stupid. Find maxxuss' site on Google and use the patches and instructions he has there. Good luck! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9709-1043-installation-issues/#findComment-60739 Share on other sites
GileS
I'm still having no luck...regardless of what approach I take i still have no volumes listed when im supposed to pick the drive to install to. If anyone knows the reason for this or atleast has suggestions other then the guides used are worthless would be great. I understand the maxxuss guides are probably best but its hard to tell from google cache what is the latest and such. Is there a dvd/iso patch? the latest guide i could find is the one that says it would work to use the JaS 1111a V4.2b patch... I had no problems back when 10.4.1 came out and my system is unchanged. So any suggestions about what could cause it and how to fix it would be great! Eggman
Don't use the one that mentions the JaS patch. Go down one more link on his main page. You'll find everything there!
