Well, I got iATKOS running pretty well, cept one thing; no battery indicator for my Dell m1530. I picked all three options under EFI (darwin efi, darwin stockacpi, darwin stock kernel)

So I installed the power management bundle from http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=80425. And didn't get anything:

I am not clear what it magicgirl is saying by:

"For battery status you can use the PowerManagement.bundle from here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=80425 and AppleSMBIOS from here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=88087 or here http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=15474

EDIT: February 10 2008 in order to make this work you cant select the Sotck AppleACPIPlatform.kext from the Bootloader-> Darwin EFI option from iATKOS installation DVD since the vanilla ACPIPlatform does not contain the necesary AppleACPIPowerSource.kext (plugin). See the section "Power Management, SpeedStep and (S3) Sleep:" at Devilhood's guide"

(from thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=83039)

So uhh, what do I need to do to get this thing working? But I have to choose to install the Stock AppleACPIPlatform.kext during iATKOS install cause that what it says IN the iatkos install description. So how do I get a non-vanilla ACPIPlatform that matches up with the PowerSource kext?

OR AM I GETTING IT ALL WRONG :D

wait...near the bottom of the post, he has an attachment labelled:

zip.gif AppleACPIPowerSource.kext.zip (if you had installed the Vanilla AppleACPIPlatform.kext)

So should I install that powersource.kext and the power management bundle? (nothing else?) My understanding is that the powersource.kext should be installed in the Plugins folder, not the Extensions folder, correct?

if somebody could help me, or at least give a brief yes or no response, that would be very helpful.

ook, so i have discovered:

1. only installing the powermanagement.bundle i cannot sleep/shutdown.

that stock iatkos appleacpiplatform.kext DOES not have the appleacpipowersource.kext in the plugins folder.

can't find a version of appleacpiplatform.kext that works.

tried kextloading a modified version of acpipowersource.kext that has matching version numbers=no.

CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE GIVE ME A RUNDOWN OF EXACTLY WHAT I NEED TO DO TO GET THIS WORKING .

Thanks.
