raas
Toshiba Satellite AMD Turion X2 1.9GHz 2Gbs Ram ATi X1200 GPU Realtek Sound/Wireless (assuming) 200GB SATA HDD JaS 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2] I really can't seem to figure out what the problem is. Darwin loads fine, and the installation works up until the point where it asks me to select a HDD to create a partition. There is no drive for me to select. I know its not the HDD. I have gone through the forum and think that it may have something to do with the HDD itself being a SATA HDD. How can I fix it so that my HDD is recognized? Any help is greatly appreciated. dbitalia
You need to select the disk utility, when it asks you to select your hard drive which you cant see, at the top menu bar you should see utilities, select that then select disk utility, you then need to format the disk in mac journaled format so it can be seen Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/96983-need-help-installation-trouble/#findComment-692911 Share on other sites
raas
No thats the thing, I can't select my HDD in disk utility. I am only able to see the DVD drive and thats it. I read that I have to add a kext or something but I really don't know what that means. westwaerts
for most install dvds you need to set SATA AHCI ( not IDE) for being recognized. afaik. on desktop with more sata ports even connection at port 0 or 1, was a must.
