codingmonkey
Hello everyone, As you can see from my sig, I have a pretty beefy system, but for some reason iMovie is deathly slow. It's slow just moving around the video, putting in titles or images and just doing anything. It also takes 15 minutes to export a 2 minute video to really crappy quality and 1.5 hours to export it to good quality. I talked with some Mac owners and this doesn't seem to be the case for them, is there something wrong with my OSX86 setup? Is it not hardware accelerated? Any action in iMovie puts both of my cores to almost 100%, so perhaps I need to install some additional nVidia drivers? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! codingmonkey
Hmm, am I asking in the right place or should I ask somewhere else?
reilley
I have the same problem since moving to Kalyway 10.5.1. I am using both iMovie '08 and also the iMovie HD '06. Adding transitions and waiting for renders takes MUCH longer than when I was using iAtkos 1.0.
codingmonkey
Hrm, so no one else has this problem? I check and it seems my video card does support Quartz Extreme (so I assume that the driver is working). I can't think of any other reason why it would be so slow . 360freak
you might just want to try another version of osx86. and just to let you know, there are a million questions being asked on the forum, so getting a good answer may take a bit of waiting and bumping. codingmonkey
Well I'm wondering, is this something that's common for OSX86 or is this actually a problem.
