herman238
Hi, I finally got round to getting a SATA-IDE adapter today so i could actually boot off the dvd The install went fine, but now when it boots up i get the kernel error "hold down the power button for a few seconds.." Just wondering if anyone knows what the most likely cause/solution is? Thanks for any help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/96727-installed-ok-but-crashes-on-boot/ Share on other sites

If not then boot with -v and you can see what the problem is. don't want to sound patronising but if you don't know how. Hit F8 at boot then type -v then hit return. herman238
It worked!! with -x anyway. Thanks so much This is safe boot though right? Do you think I'll always have to boot this way? And don't worry about sounding patronising i pretty much have little to no idea what I'm doing, just ever since I got my macbook I love OSX, I just couldn't go back to vista Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/96727-installed-ok-but-crashes-on-boot/#findComment-690920 Share on other sites
