oat
I installed the Kalyway distro on an 80 GB IDE drive I had lying around I also have XP on a Sata drive. I installed everything correctly, I'm using the MBR boot and when I try to boot from the HDD that has OS X on it, it just gives me a black screen with a flashing curser in the upper left hand corner and doesn't do anything after that... Any help is appreciated. homers
It happens to me aswell. Set to boot from DVD and insert your install DVD. It will boot the DVD and the counter will go down. After that it should boot into Leopard and not the installation DVD. oat
Once it reaches zero, it just goes directly to the installation settings, like where you put in -v for verbose installation... it doesn't go anywhere after that Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/96634-help-with-kalyway-installation/#findComment-690599 Share on other sites
homers
Mine does that if the OS X hard drive is not on SATA channel 1. Basically if it is not the main drive connected Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/96634-help-with-kalyway-installation/#findComment-690635 Share on other sites
oat
So your saying that I should set my IDE drive to Master instead of slave? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/96634-help-with-kalyway-installation/#findComment-690659 Share on other sites
homers
You should try it. I do not use IDE so I am not 100% sure but for test purposes I would connect your Mac OS X hard drive only and connect it to master just to see if it works Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/96634-help-with-kalyway-installation/#findComment-690692 Share on other sites

oat
I figured out why it was giving me the blinking error.... It was because when you partition your hard drive you have to use a single word... I used Mac OS X and it gave me the error... calling it "MACOSX" worked perfectly... but I still have a problem, it only gets a few seconds into booting into OS X and it automatically restarts, anybody know?
