Braveheart Posted August 23, 2005 Share Posted August 23, 2005 I am getting no sound cappabilities what so ever.The AC97 Audio guide help guide here is no good because when i type in the (cd /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAC97Audio.kext/Contents/PlugIns /AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext/Contents). it tells me there is no such directory. When i surf to it there is a Apple AC97Audio.kext file in the Extensions folder but no folder containing the rest of the contents. Ive went into bios and all on board sound cappabilities are enabled, Im Lost. Tried other sound cards with same results. Reading the forum tells me on board AC97 is the way to go but i just cant get them working. When i check about this mac it says on board Audio, No Information found, It feels like the mac software knows its there but it isn's switched on. Is there anywat i can get the files mentioned above so i can edit the to include Contents/PlugIns /AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext/Contents Then my new mac will have sound.... I have a MSI(sis964) motherboard with inbuilt AC97 , One other thing that may help is that no CD device works either that doe'snt bother me but that could also be linked to the problem.... Please does anyboby out there know what the frig is wrong... Other than that the Mac0sx86 runs Brilliant....Fast internet fast graphics everything pops up as fast as you click it.....
