Aluminum Sponge
G'da All! I'm a longtime OSx86 Tiger (Uphuck 10.4.9) user finally making the switch to Leopard. My complete setup ran like a breeze in Uphuck 10.4.9, minus sleep (which would just be icing). I recently purchased a PS2 keyboard (so the Alt & Opt keys aren't switched in WinXP) and I use a nice multi-button BenQ USB mouse (came with USB>PS2 adapter). I've tested with both iATKOS & Kalyway under various configurations, and the Leopard install has gone fine, Audio/Video/Lan/North/South-bridge,etc supported and i'm very impressed and thrilled with PC EFI, which allows me to use almost Vanilla 10.5.2 OS since my hardware is near-Mac (Core2Duo on Intel 865 m/:P. Initially the main problem I was getting was my PS/2 keyboard not working in Leopard PC EFI (Vanilla kernel & AppleACPIPlatform). After much research and wondering why the ACPIPS2Nub.kext wasn't working (yes, matched all OSBundleLibraries versions correctly), I re-discovered that OSx86 PS2 support had to be used in combination of a PS2 Keyboard AND PS2 mouse. So using the USB>PS2 adapter for the mouse, I connected both the keyboard and mouse via PS2 and finally was able to gain a working keyboard in Leopard. However, the problem now is that I have lost the programmable multi-button support in the mouse. I use the highly regarded USB Overdrive to map the additional buttons of the mouse to time-saving actions such as Back/Forwared, Expose, etc since BenQ has no drivers available for OS X. But since the mouse is now connected via PS2 ultimately (USB>PS2 converter), USB Overdrive no longer detects it as a device it can control. I would like to know if there's any software solution out of this dilemma: If the mouse is PS2, I gain a working keyboard but non-programmable mouse buttons. BUT, if the mouse is USB, I gain a programable mouse (USB Overdrive) but no keyboard. Is their any software solution possible (short of probably going non-PC EFI)?? Any way to get ACPIPS2Nub/AppleACPIPlatform to find and use only PS2 Keyboard ?? Or perhaps to get OS X to program a PS2 Mouse (ala USB Overdrive)? Stock kernel (9.2.2) and AppleACPIPlatform (1.2.1 624Kb) Thanks in advance for any help or pointers, Fellow Hackintosher Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/96475-using-ps2-keyboard-with-usb-mouse-together-desktop/ Share on other sites

yonyz
Thanks you, Aluminum Sponge! I have a PS2 Keyboard and a USB Mouse, and my problem is that every time I boot into Leopard, I need to unplug and replug the PS2 Keyboard. The Mouse works fine, always. Will this fix my problem?
