attempts
there is a problem that i cannot figure for the life of me and it's slowly eating my brains away.i had kalyway leopard 10.5.1 and i could use dvd player to play dvd and mounted iso fine. i upgraded to 10.5.2 via kalyway's upgrader and subsequently updated kernal and the graphics update.shortly after that i noticed that whenever i tired to play a movie in the dvd player, it would show me no video, although the audio ran fine. if i try to mount an iso, same thing. sometimes, if i go to the dvd menu, it will show the overlay of the highlighted icons, but that's it. the mounted iso works fine in vlc. dvds work fine in vlc. i've tried to use mac.nub applesmbios-27; it failed.i've tried to view the iso in tiger dvd player; it works.i've tried to view the iso on fresh 10.5.1 dvd player; it works.i've tried to view the iso on fresh 10.5.2 iatkos dvd player; dvd player bounces, then disappears on summoning. same thing happens after graphics update in the same install.nothing i do, no settings in dvd player i change get any iso to work. any dvd to work. vlc plays them all ok, but i like the interface of dvd player much more (odd personal preference mebbe).so here's the riddle i've been trying to solve: what (software, hardware) could possibly make it so that dvd player cannot playback dvd video from video_ts OR dvd, but vlc can. what could it possibly be...
