coolbgdog
from newegg.com, this one This ethernet card and also when I play video on vlc it looks green and purple but I have quartz extreme and core image enabled. Why does it look like that? Another thing is my sound, only the left channel work. The sound is called Via enhanced AC'97 audio controller. Its kinda of annoying with mono sound on one side of the speaker. Other than that once I get that fixed it will be usable. Oh and will the tulip kext thing affect the nic card Im getting? I think I loaded the kext from some instructions on this board trying to get my via rhine ethernet to work but it didnt. Danman
The vlc problem is very common, you fix it in applications settings - I can't remember how you'll have to search this forum I'm affraid. The left channel audio has also been linked to having other devices plugged in (e.g. a microphone) if you've got anything else plugged in try unplugging. R. Bear Helms
I have that video problem also. Appears to be related to the number of colors the screen depth is set to. Try the Monitor control panel in System Preferences - change colors to Millions, probably fix that right up. Audio is just amazingly lame. I am actually shocked that an OS which has been on Intel systems for 5 years (well at least Darwin) is so very lame with Audio support. From a company working toward selling a billion iTunes songs too... Whatever!
