tazevedo317
i have an Asus P5K-VM and an E4400. i can get the e4400 up to 3.0GHz but if i run something like parallels or handbrake, i get a kernel panic. even when i was at 2.88GHz i would get a kernel panic with those apps. any ideas whats holding me back? lack of support in OS X? idk anythign about VCore Voltage so any advice is helpful Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/95774-need-some-overclocking-help/ Share on other sites
ironicall
Its most likely your vcore mate. I would recomend that if you dual boot go into you bios and increase the vcore a few mhz at a time bearing mind that you want to use the lowest vcore as possible. You might also need to add abit of voltage to the FSB as well, and then test the overclock in windows using orthos or Prime95. If you can run either for 2 to 4 hours without error or BSOD your overclock is stable. Just keep an eye on your temps using everest or coretemp as increasing the voltage adds more heat. tazevedo317
thanks for the help. upped the vCore on the CPU and Ram. so much stabler now. i dont have windows installed so i just rip a dvd to check if its stable. since that taxes up the CPU pretty good. temperature seem nice. thanks -Tiago Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/95774-need-some-overclocking-help/#findComment-684180 Share on other sites
